[Python] Using Python Plotly library, how to trigger callback when user click on empty space?

I am using Plotly to make a stock market candlestick graph. I want to check if the user has clicked on empty space in the graph, so that the code to do some actions, such as adding a reminder at the price level of the clicked point.

However, Plotly only triggers callbacks when I click on something already present on the graph. Is there any way to make it trigger callbacks when I click on empty space?
