    export PYENV_ROOT="$HOME/.pyenv"
    export PATH="$PYENV_ROOT/bin:$PATH"
    eval "$(pyenv init --path)"

But as soon as I enter the last line, I get the error:

Command 'pyenv' not found, did you mean:
    command 'p7env' from deb libnss3-tools (2:3.68.2-0ubuntu1.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled with rm -rf ~/.pyenv several times and tried adjusting the problem line to eval "$(pyenv init -)" on recommendation from the system assist for my program with no change. I'm hitting the same error at the same point in the process every time.

I need to get Python 3.8.

I have uninstalled the saved files multiple times and made adjustments to the code lines, changing:

    eval "$(pyenv init --path)"

    To:

    "$(pyenv init -)"

    without any change.

I'm following directions provided by my bootcamp to set up my virtual environment and have also tried to follow the source from GitHub and the installation wiki linked there.
