I'm running a Python (v3.11) Chatbot hosted on render I'm using twitchio (v3) for commands. Everything seems to run properly on the host but the chatbot is not connecting. What I'm doing is trying to connect the bot like: class TwitchBot(commands.Bot): def __init__(self): super().__init__( token=os.getenv("TWITCH_TOKEN"), irc_token=os.getenv("TWITCH_TOKEN"), prefix="!", initial_channels=["targetAccount"], client_id=os.getenv("CLIENT_ID"), client_secret=os.getenv("CLIENT_SECRET"), bot_id=int(os.getenv("BOT_ID")) ) Using the BOT_ID of a different twitch account than the owner of the channel like so: Main Twitch Account: "targetAccount" Bot Twitch Account: "botAccount" And I've tried using the connection tokens for both targetAccount and botAccount but the bot does not seem to connect. Tried debugging with the help of AI models by doing event_ready, event_join, and a ping command but nothing is triggering. Here is the flask and bot start as well. from flask import Flask from threading import Thread app = Flask(__name__) @app.route('/') def home(): return "Bot is running!" def run_flask(): app.run(host='0.0.0.0', port=8080) flask_thread = Thread(target=run_flask) flask_thread.daemon = True flask_thread.start() if __name__ == "__main__": sleep(1) bot = TwitchBot() asyncio.run(bot.start()) What am I doing wrong? What is missing? Continue reading...
