I'm trying to use a .env file to store my databricks PAT, that I'm using later to query some tables. However I'm struggling to read that token in a way that works with my code. More precisely the issue is that the token read from the .env file does not match the same token when written as a simple string. Example : My .env file : DATABRICKS_TOKEN = mydatabrickstoken Then I read it using dotenv, like this : load_dotenv('../../.env') TOKEN = os.getenv('DATABRICKS_TOKEN') If I print TOKEN, I see the correct value was retrieved. However, if I try to do: print(TOKEN=="mydatabrickstoken") I always get False, even after I try to strip it of any whitespace characters. I've also checked that the token was the same in both files, both have the same len(), there isn't any hidden characters. This causes the token read through .env to not get accepted later in my code, but if I write my token directly as a string it does work, so there is something wrong with this .env read operation. Any ideas? Continue reading...
