I'm deploying a Streamlit app to Streamlit Cloud from a public GitHub repo named MonteSimLite. Everything in the repository appears healthy:

    ✅ Repo is public

    ✅ Branch is main

✅ Entry point is app.py, located at the root

✅ Python version set to 3.11

✅ All dependencies listed in requirements.txt

✅ Streamlit dashboard configured with correct casing (mysorian/MonteSimLite)

Despite this, my app fails to deploy and shows this persistent log:

Failed to download the sources for repository: 'montesimlite', branch: 'main', main module: 'app.py' Make sure the repository and the branch exist and you have write access to it, and then reboot the app. Things I’ve already tried:

Creating a fresh app with a new name

Disconnecting and reconnecting GitHub in Streamlit Cloud

    Renaming the repo

    Using a stripped-down app.py that contains only a title

Verified that the repo URL is correctly cased (MonteSimLite, not montesimlite)

Deleted all prior apps that used the lowercase slug

What’s interesting is I’ve previously deployed another app (MontecarloSimulator) using a similar setup with no issues. Streamlit seems to lowercase the subdomain (e.g., montesimlite.streamlit.app) regardless, which shouldn't affect cloning—but here it appears to be failing because of that.

My question Has anyone encountered this repo cloning failure in Streamlit Cloud even with correct public repo settings? Could it be a caching issue, legacy app fingerprint, or something else with Streamlit’s backend?

Would greatly appreciate any ideas or troubleshooting steps to break out of this loop. Thank you!
