Slight hyphen differences in Unicode so you have to type "python --v" instead of "python -v" to check Python version on MacOS? It seems to me that "python -v" won't work if you just type it out with you keyboard because it the actual command uses the emdash or some sort of longer version with different unicode and you have to type "python --v" and that definitely works instead.
