Evening, This may be a very basic question.. I made a simple python script that launches mpv with certain url with a: p = subprocess.Popen(["/usr/bin/mpv", link], stdout=subprocess.DEVNULL, stderr=subprocess.STDOUT) Now, i'm having the following situation; if i: A) Open a terminal and run the script -> mpv opens, the script ends, i can close the terminal and mpv stays open. B) Call a terminal with the process using /usr/bin/wezterm start -e python /script/path/here -> mpv opens, but right after the script finishes, the terminal closes and mpv closes too I get it may be related to how the subprocesses/child procs are handled, but i can't seem to understand what is the difference between the two situations, cause in both cases the script finishes running and the terminal where it was ran is closed, however in the first case, mpv stays open, in the second case it doesn't. I need to find a way to figure out how to get the second case to say open after the terminal closes. I'm on arch. Any ideas? Thanks in advance ! Continue reading...
