Hello Stack Overflow community, I'm currently working on deploying a Streamlit application to Streamlit Cloud and have run into a persistent ModuleNotFoundError that I'm hoping to get some assistance with. ❗ The Problem My Streamlit application fails to deploy on Streamlit Cloud with the following error, indicating that the joblib module cannot be found: ModuleNotFoundError: This app has encountered an error. The original error message is redacted to prevent data leaks. Full error details have been recorded in the logs (if you're on Streamlit Cloud, click on 'Manage app' in the lower right of your app). Traceback: File "/mount/src/beverageclassifier/app.py", line 3, in <module> import joblib Context & Details The app.py script includes import joblib on line 3. Crucially, the application runs without any issues on my local machine. joblib is correctly installed and accessible within my project's virtual environment. requirements.txt Info I have ensured that joblib is explicitly listed in my requirements.txt file, which resides in the root directory of my GitHub repository (the same location as app.py). The specific entry is: joblib==1.4.2 (Note: The version 1.4.2 is a placeholder; I've used the exact version from my local pip freeze output.) I have ensured that all necessary packages used in the app are explicitly listed in my requirements.txt file, which resides in the root directory of my GitHub repository (the same location as app.py). The current contents are: joblib==1.4.2 numpy==1.26.4 pandas==2.2.2 scikit-learn==1.5.1 streamlit==1.47.1 ✅ Steps I've Taken Confirmed joblib's local installation and functionality by running pip freeze and executing the app locally. Verified the presence and correct path of requirements.txt in the repository root. Ensured joblib is clearly listed with its version in requirements.txt. What's Confusing Given that the module is correctly specified in requirements.txt and functions locally, I'm puzzled as to why Streamlit Cloud's build environment is unable to locate it. Could this be: Related to a specific quirk of Streamlit Cloud’s dependency resolution? An unexpected conflict with other packages? A step I’ve overlooked in the deployment setup? Any guidance or suggestions on resolving this ModuleNotFoundError would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your time and expertise! Continue reading...
