[Python] Jupiter lab doesn't show the image from a jpg file

I have the following code

# Display the photo and its shape
print(img.shape)
plt.imshow(img)
plt.axis('off');

#the result show only the shape:
(320,240,3)


but not the image.

I just recreating one example from a training course in which the image do is shown.

can someone has an idea what the problem is?
