[Python] Is there anyway to insert data into chromadb and have it automatically manage the...

I would like to add records to a chromadb collection through

collection.add(embeddings=list_of_embeddings, metadatas=list_of_metadata)


and would like chromadb to manage the record ids instead of manually providing them. Is such a function available out-of-the-box from chromadb?

I have tried not providing the ids parameter in the collection.add() method but it is stated that ids is a required positional argument.
