I'm working with a set of stateless data processing functions written in Nim, and I want to use them from Python.

I initially tried compiling a shared object (.so) file and importing it in Python using ctypes, but the import failed. I now understand that a generic .so is not automatically a valid Python extension module.

I discovered nimpy, which seems ideal for my use case. My goals are: 1.Compile Nim functions into a .so (or .pyd) that can be directly imported from Python 2. Define several internal helper functions in Nim, but only expose a few as public "entry points" to Python - Keep the Python interface clean and minimal 3. Understand the necessary pragmas and compiler flags for this workflow

I couldn't find a good source for the process with a detailed instruction on how to use pragmas and compiler flags and how to name the binary correctly. Does somebody know a good web reference or can give an example.

    Thx
