I will provide a self answer to this question, it has been bugging me for years and I only recently found out the solution so I suspect that other people have encountered the same issue.

Q: Is it possible to change environments in spyder in the graphical interface?

    How I currently do it:

    1. Start up anaconda prompt
    2. Type activate my_env
    3. Type spyder

Then it would launch spyder in that environment, but this is a relatively large amount of work for something that I do often. Running spyder would also freeze the terminal, so if I want to change environments, I would first have to close spyder and then do steps (2) and (3) again. Again, it's not a lot of work, but it's something I have to do each time I launch spyder or change environments, which I do almost daily, and it takes a couple seconds for spyder to launch. Is there a better way? I would prefer to launch spyder instead of the anaconda prompt and then change environments within spyder.
