I’m working on a Python application that integrates with Microsoft 365 Copilot APIs. My goal is to use Copilot (or a related API) to perform web-grounded responses (i.e., public web search similar to Bing integration). From Microsoft documentation, I understand there are: Retrieval APIs – for accessing tenant content (SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.) Copilot Chat API – in preview, used for chat-like experiences Web Search – supported in Microsoft 365 Copilot UI, but it’s unclear if it’s available via API I have already registered an Azure AD app and can authenticate using MSAL. However, I couldn’t find any API documentation for enabling or using Bing Web Search grounding via Graph API or Copilot API. My question: Is there a way to call Microsoft 365 Copilot or Microsoft Graph API to include public web search results (e.g., Bing) in the response from Python? Or is web search only available via the Microsoft 365 UI and not through APIs? Any API endpoint that supports web/Bing search grounding via Microsoft 365 Copilot Confirmation whether this is currently available, restricted, or not exposed via API If not possible, would using the Bing Search API separately be the only option? Any guidance or official documentation link would be appreciated. Continue reading...
