Earlier, I build a python v2 function app which worked perfectly locally, but didn't have any functions listed when deploying to Azure. This was deployed via GitHub actions and from the GitHub side, it indicated that the deployment worked perfectly. The issue turned out to be problems with the dotenv package - removing this enabled everything to work in the cloud. I'm now facing a similar issue, my app which has a timer-based trigger, works perfectly locally, but fails to run or recognize functions when deployed to Azure. I found this only because I noticed some behaviors weren't occurring - from the GitHub deployment side, it thought everything was running perfectly. Two questions: Is there a good way to cause a failure to recognize any functions to cause the deployment to fail from within the GitHub action status? What's the best way to debug these types of issues apart from doing a binary search to remove code/packages and continually redeploying? Thanks, Joe. I expected a failed deployment if no Python functions were found. Continue reading...
