I know there are some threads about this at SO already, but they are a bit old and none deals with Shiny for Python. I made a webapp using Shiny for Python, which can now run on a virtual linux server in the DMZ of my company. I can start it listening to http://127.0.0.1:8000 (or http://0.0.0.0:8000, but it still isn’t available due to firewall settings and I also don’t want to expose it using http). I want to expose it using https and I will hopefully receive an SSL certificate soon. Now, I somehow need to forward the https requests to the webserver running on localhost, which should be doable by setting up a reverse proxy using nginx or apache2. However, I have little (to not say zero) experience with webservers beyond local ones. There are some tutorials available, but they all differ in the details and I don’t want to start trying out random stuff. Could anyone guide me a little on how to make this webapp available?
