[Python] Error when trying to access data in h5 file using h5py

I am trying to read an h5 file using python

with h5py.File(filename, 'r') as file:
print("file.keys() = ", file.keys())
a_group_key = list(file.keys())[0]
data = list(file[a_group_key])
print(data)


but the code above leads to the error

File "h5py/_selector.pyx", line 376, in h5py._selector.Reader.read
OSError: Can't synchronously read data (can't open directory (/usr/local/hdf5/lib/plugin). Please verify its existence)


The output is

file.keys() = <KeysViewHDF5 ['d1', 'd2', 'd3', 'd4']>
