I’m building an educational robot simulator for STEM students, inspired by tools like MotoSim and RoboDK. The goal is to simulate 6-axis robots with offline programming, teach & playback, and a pendant-style interface. The simulator is being developed in Unity (for 3D robot control) and WPF (for a ribbon-based desktop interface). I’m currently working solo and feel stuck on how to structure the software, especially in areas like: Cartesian vs. Joint teaching logic Inverse kinematics integration Real-time UI-robot communication (e.g., pendant to simulation) Saving and loading robot programs If you're experienced in Unity, robotics, or industrial robot control, I’d truly appreciate any guidance, references, or even code structure examples. My goal is to make this open and useful for schools. Would you be willing to help, review, or point me in the right direction? Continue reading...
