My system consists of 2 parts: python client and C++/Qt server. They use grpc over network socket to communicate, even though they run on the same machine. While on Mac this works perfectly fine, on Windows I see strange delays - even simple packet roundtrip sometimes turns from ~0.5 ms to 30+ ms. I am trying to figure out the delay reason. On the python (client) side I am using time.perf_counter() to get time stamps before sending the request and after getting a response. At the same time I need a similar function on C++ side (server), so that C++ side time stamps are comparable to the client. Question: What could be the function in C++ which is similar to python's perf_counter(), so that these function use the same time stamping approach? Continue reading...
