    I'm experiencing intermittent build failures with my Angular application in an Nx monorepo. The build command nx run frontend:build:development sometimes succeeds and sometimes fails, but I cannot get any error details to debug the issue.

    Environment:

    • OS: Windows 11
    • Node.js: v24.11.0
    • npm: 10.9.1
    • Yarn: 1.22.22
    • Nx: 22.0.2
    • Angular: ~20.3.0
    • TypeScript: ~5.9.2
    • IDE: WebStorm

    Project Structure:

    • Nx monorepo with multiple apps (API, mobile app, frontend)
    • Frontend app uses @angular/build:application executor

    Build Configuration (project.json):

    "build": {
    "executor": "@angular/build:application",
    "outputs": ["{options.outputPath}"],
    "options": {
    "outputPath": "dist/apps/frontend",
    "browser": "apps/frontend/src/main.ts",
    "polyfills": ["zone.js"],
    "tsConfig": "apps/frontend/tsconfig.app.json",
    "inlineStyleLanguage": "scss",
    "assets": [
    {
    "glob": "**/*",
    "input": "apps/frontend/public"
    }
    ],
    "styles": ["apps/frontend/src/styles.scss"]
    },
    "configurations": {
    "production": {
    "budgets": [
    {
    "type": "initial",
    "maximumWarning": "500kb",
    "maximumError": "1mb"
    },
    {
    "type": "anyComponentStyle",
    "maximumWarning": "4kb",
    "maximumError": "8kb"
    }
    ],
    "outputHashing": "all",
    "fileReplacements": [
    {
    "replace": "apps/frontend/src/environments/environment.ts",
    "with": "apps/frontend/src/environments/environment.production.ts"
    }
    ]
    },
    "test": {
    "optimization": false,
    "outputHashing": "none",
    "sourceMap": true,
    "extractLicenses": false,
    "namedChunks": true,
    "fileReplacements": [
    {
    "replace": "apps/frontend/src/environments/environment.ts",
    "with": "apps/frontend/src/environments/environment.test.ts"
    }
    ]
    },
    "development": {
    "optimization": false,
    "extractLicenses": false,
    "sourceMap": true
    }
    },
    "defaultConfiguration": "development"
    }

    What I've tried:

    1. Cleared Nx cache with nx reset
    2. Removed node_modules and yarn.lock, then clean install
    3. Used --verbose flag, but it doesn't seem to pass verbose logging to the Angular build process
    4. Attempted to run Angular CLI directly (ng build) but get "command not available outside workspace" error

    Symptoms:

    • Build fails with no error message
    • No error details or stack traces shown
    • Nx detects it as a "flaky task"
    • Sometimes succeeds, sometimes fails under identical conditions

    Questions:

    1. How can I get detailed error output from the Angular build process when using Nx?
    2. What could cause intermittent build failures with no error messages?
    3. How should I configure verbose logging for @angular/build:application in Nx?

    Any help debugging this intermittent build failure would be greatly appreciated!
