I'm trying to load a custom module that have been developed by a different team from a remote server by demand into the project, let me explain: This module (chunk and it's chunk dependencies) can be accessed from a remote server, or could be added after the build process before the deployment (this code is part of the project, but I want it to be added on demand), the code is part of the same project but lets say that the chunk will be stored outside of the dist folder in the end, and on demand the chunk will be re-added (with some code changes) Now I don't have a lot of experience with builder customization, but I'm trying to figure out if my approach is correct or if it's possible or not. I've migrated to Angular 18 and am using the esbuild builder that has been provided with the latest Angular updates: "builder": "@angular-devkit/build-angular:application". I understand that when configuring the RouterModule I can provide a route that can be loaded lazily with loadChildren but I can only import a module from inside the project. (lazy load in optional, chunk/js can be downloaded in advance). I've read that the previous builders that are based on webpack, have more customization when it comes to lazy loaded chunks when using a custom webpack.config.ts. (optimization/splitChunk) and has Module Federation topic (loadRemoteModule), but I'm not sure if it fits my needs. I've tried to manipulate the main.js post build to import the chuck from a server without success. Is this architecture possible? manipulation the main.js file seems far fetched but I'm trying. Is it worth downgrading to webpack and try some other customizations? Another approach I was thinking about is to have a separate npm package that will be added by npm install. Thanks for the help and advice in advance! Continue reading...
