Jimp: image processing fail on module usage

I am unable to use Jimp.

installed: npm install --save jimp //OK

imported: import * as Jimp from 'jimp'; //OK

usage Jimp.read(someImage) //fail with error

Uncaught (in promise): Error: Node's Buffer() not available
