Implementing version checker in my Angular webapp that I host on Firebase?

  1. I have this webapp made in Angular which I host as a Firebase project. The app already automatically updates his version in a TS file whenever I upload it to Firebase. What I want is a way to make it so that the app constantly checks if the version one's using on his device is the same as the one that's present on the version that's uploaded on Firebase at that time.

Let's say someone's using the app on his phone and I publish an update. The app should notify the user that a new version is available and that he should refresh the page in order to update the app. This is required because some of the users of the app never close their browser's windows and never refresh the page (yes, I know), so this is the solution I thought. The app SHOULD NOT refresh herself because this may interfere with the user's work.

Is something like this possible? I don't need the code for the notification per-se, I just need to know if there's away to compare constantly the user-side version and the Firebase-side version, and how to implement it.
