I am coding an auction web site with spring boot and angular and i came across this issue. I already have a method in another page that update a row in the db and it works. The methods are pretty much the same but this one does nothing, don't even show any sign of life in the spring terminal. However if i use the method that works i can see the transaction in the terminal. I don't know if this is some sort of bug or something. Controller method: @PostMapping(path = "/close") @PreAuthorize("hasAnyAuthority('Role_user', 'Role_admin')") public ResponseEntity closeAsta(@Valid @RequestParam String nomeGiocatore) { try { astaService.closeAsta(nomeGiocatore); return new ResponseEntity<>(HttpStatus.OK); } catch (AuctionAlreadyClosedException e) { return new ResponseEntity<>("Auction already closed", HttpStatus.BAD_REQUEST); } catch (PlayerNotFoundException e) { return new ResponseEntity<>("Player not found", HttpStatus.NOT_FOUND); } } Service method: @Transactional() public void closeAsta(String nomeGiocatore) throws PlayerNotFoundException, AuctionAlreadyClosedException { Giocatore giocatore = giocatoreService.getGiocatoreByNome(nomeGiocatore); Optional<Asta> o = astaRepository.findApertaByGiocatore(giocatore, Stato.APERTA); if (o.isEmpty()) throw new AuctionAlreadyClosedException(); astaRepository.closeAstaByGiocatore(giocatore, Stato.TERMINATA); } Repository method: @Modifying @Query("UPDATE Asta a SET a.stato = ?2 WHERE a.giocatore_nome = ?1") void closeAstaByGiocatore(Giocatore giocatore, Stato terminata); Service method in angular: closeAsta(params: HttpParams): Observable<any> { return this.httpClient.post<any>(this.url + 'close', null, { headers: { 'Content-Type': 'application/json', 'Authorization': `Bearer ${this.oauthService.getAccessToken()}` }, params: params }) } I whould like to attach some errors but i don't get nothing by the terminals, this is all i can provide.
