Async pipe not found in Angular v18 standalone component

    I have an Angular 18.1.0 test project, which I have just created and is all standalone components.

    In the component TypeScript file I have:

    import { NgFor, AsyncPipe } from '@angular/common';

    public A: Observable<ItemModel>;


    The *ngFor shows up fine, but not the async pipe.

    I also tried importing CommonModule but same issue.

    Does anyone know why I can't see the async pipe?
