Ag-Grid how can I have certain columns stop editing when focused out?

I want to enable a feature that lets users stop editing a cell if they click anywhere outside the cell (outside the grid as well). I know this can be enabled via 'stopEditingWhenCellsLoseFocus', but we have some old custom cell editors that do not work with this option enabled. Is there a way to specifically choose which cells/columns can stop editing when they lose focus?

I can't share code since its from my company, but I currently have stopEditingWhenCellsLoseFocus set to true in our default GridOptions, and was hoping there was some way to disable or enable this feature at the ColumnDef level.
